These Mokume Gane dangle earrings were made from sheet comprised of alternating layers of copper and sterling silver. The pattern is formed by stamping and removing metal to reveal the different layers of metal. Sterling sheet was patterned for the top piece with the rolling mill.
The earrings were given a patina that increases the contrast between the copper and silver layers.
A light wax coating was added to help preserve the patina; note the patina may change slightly over time with wear. The ear wires are made from sterling silver wire by hand. Each earring is approximately 2 1/8" long.
Two pairs of ear wire guards are included to firmly secure the ear wires.
